Bug in iOS and iPadOS gives keyboards full access
Apple warns users of iOS and iPadOS about the use of third-party keyboards. Due to a bug, these keyboards can gain full access to the device.
Apple warns of a bug in both iOS and iPadOS. Third-party keyboards can get full access to a device without permission. The company promises to resolve the bug in a subsequent software update.
In addition to Apple’s standard keyboard, it is possible to download third-party keyboards. These apps can be used independently, but sometimes also require full access for extra options. Due to the error in iOS and iPadOS, keyboards can get full access without user approval.
The bug is not relevant to users of Apple’s standard keyboard, or keyboards that cannot use full access at all. In the settings menu the keyboards can be found at ‘General> Keyboard> Keyboards’.
