GTA Games launches own games store
Rockstar Games, the publisher of the popular game series Grand Theft Auto, launches its own game shop for PC. San Andreas is given away as a bait.
Publisher Rockstar has launched its own digital game store: the Rockstar Games Launcher.
All the games in the Grand Theft Auto and Max Payne series are for sale in this store. Games like L.A. Noire and Bully can also be found via the launcher.
The Rockstar Games Launcher is a program that gamers install on their PC, to then purchase and launch games. As a bait, the game Grand Theft Auto becomes: San Andreas temporarily given away for free.
Red Dead Redemption 2
More and more similar launchers are being made by game companies. This fragmented the market for PC games. There is a lot of criticism from PC gamers. For example, Fortnite maker Epic Games has spent money to place new games exclusively on its Epic Game Store, therefore they are not available through the popular Steam game store.
It is not yet clear whether Rockstar will also offer exclusive games. For example, gamers are eagerly awaiting a PC version of cowboy game Red Dead Redemption 2. This Rockstar game could lure many people to the Rockstar Games Launcher.
